Signal Token

A silver coin eyched with a symbol of the creator’s choice, in this case a set of broken manacles. When the wearer speaks a command word, the creator of the token hears that word in their mind, spoken in the voice of the wearer. A signal token can be “programmed” with up to three different words when it is created. The token can be used once per day to transmit one of the words, and this communication can occur over any distance if the sender and recipient are both in the same plane of existence. A secondary effect of the token is to act as a target of a scrying spell cast by the creator (the token functioning as a “location”) with automatic success. The tokens are of particular use as an alarm system and are most often used by powerful spellcasters.
